Biking In Culver City

The City has three popular bike paths and provides more on-street bike lanes every year to help bicyclists get around easily and safely.
Also, Culver City has active projects to improve routes for Culver City residents and students as well as safety programs to ensure that they can bike and walk safely and confidently.

Bicycle Traffic Signals
As part of the Move Culver City Project, several bicycle traffic signals have been placed on Culver and Culver City Washington Boulevards.
At signalized intersections, bicycle signal faces are allowed under Section 4D.104 of the California Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (CA-MUTCD). The CA-MUTCD stipulates that the bicycle signal face shall not conflict with any other motor vehicle movement, including a right turn on a red light. This means that when the bicycle light is green, a cyclist has an exclusive, protected phase to proceed through the intersection, and when the bicycle light is red, a cyclist should stop as other vehicle movements (right and left turns across the bike path) are allowed.
